How to play

You shouldn’t be too surprised with what you see in the Tokidoki: Lucky Town slot.

The wagering control bar is perfectly fitting with the theme of the slot, and it has been designed in a manner that any regular IGT slot player will instantly notice the typical IGT button setup. IGT requires players to stake 60 coins per spin in this 40-line slot (since they are paying for the features, too).

It’s a bit harsh, but that is IGT’s way and they will never change. Players are going to be looking at staking at least $0.60 per spin on this slot, whilst a high-rollers stake can set you back $600 per spin or more. Paylines cannot be adjusted.

Features

Wild symbols: In the Tokidoki: Lucky Town slot, wilds are represented by heart and crossbones icons. They appear black and white, in true Tokidoki fashion. However, on occasion they can appear yellow and black, and when they do, they will award any winnings in which they appear a 2x multiplier.

Bonus icon and free spins: Tokidoki’s bonus icon is a record. This vinyl disc can only appear on the fifth reel of the slot. When it does, it can trigger 5 free spins. During the bonus round, there are 5 special features which crop up, with one popping up on each spin of the bonus. Stacked wilds are also possible with this feature.

Reel Reveal bonus: On the first free spin, Caramella will crop up as a wild, and turn three symbols into wild icons. On the second move, a multiplier worth up to 15x will be added to your wins. On the third spin, Pogo will turn himself and the two symbols on either side of him into wilds.

On the fourth spin, players can pick an object to win a cash multiplier worth up to 10x their total bet. On the final free spin, a character is turned wild at random, and all instances of that character on the reels will turn wild, too.

Maximum pay-outs

The top paying prize in this slot is worth around 500 coins in total. In order to win that sum, you will need to line up 5 wilds on any payline in the game.

Of course, if you were to land 4 wilds, and a wild multiplier you could double that win to a non-progressive 1,000 coins, which is certainly not to be sniffed at.

Summary

The best thing about the Tokidoki: Lucky Town slot is the design. There can be no denying that. Other anime slots haven’t come close to hitting the benchmark set by this new game. If you want a realistic, faithful, and an authentic Japanese anime slot – this is the one for you.

The special features in the slot aren’t bad either. They are certainly new by IGT’s standards, although you do still have to pay extra for them (and we’ll never like that concept). This is very much a video slot than any fan of IGT slots will want to give a whirl.
