How to play

Sunset Delight doesn’t actually look that different to its predecessor, it terms of the design of its wagering control bar, its options, and backdrop. Sunset Delight doesn’t offer you too much wiggle room in the wagering department, either.

The game only features 3 reels and 5 paylines, and none of those are going to be adjustable. In fact, the smallest coin value is $0.02, so you are going to have to wager at least $0.10 a spin on this game. If you wish to flex your financial muscle, you can stake up to $100 a pop on this slot.

Features

Wild symbols: There is a wild symbol in the Sunset Delight slot, and it appears as a multi-coloured topping with “W” etched into it in blue. Wild toppings can substitute themselves for all other symbols in the slot, barring scatter icons.

Scatter icon: That scatter icon is represented by a wafer symbol. This is also called the Step/Spin symbol in the bonus round. If players land 3 of these simultaneously on the reels, they will trigger a free spins bonus round in the Sunset Delight classic slot.

Step/Spin bonus: To kick off with, players will be rewarded with 5 free spins in this bonus. However, if players locate more scatters during the bonus, and they are carrying Step/Spin text, then they will either bag one extra spin to their tally (Spin), or raise their multiplier by 1x (Step). Multipliers are capable of reaching up to 100x in total, if you are fortunate to make free spins last that long.

Maximum pay-outs

Even though there is a 100x multiplier in the free spins bonus round, that is not the non-progressive jackpot in this slot. On the contrary, the non-progressive jackpot is actually fixed at around the 1,000 coins mark, and it can be won in the base game, as well as the free spins bonus.

Of course, winning the non-progressive jackpot with a 100x multiplier is always going to result in a more colossal win.

Summary

Sunset Delight certainly looks the part. It has a crafty little setup, and is far superior to its predecessor. However, in terms of features, it isn’t that original. Worst still is the timing of this classic slot machine game. Perhaps Sunset Delight would have made more of an impact had it been released during the height of summer.

For some reason, Thunderkick chose to wait until the end of summer to release this summer themed slot. It’s not the smartest move, really, is it? Summer Delight has some nifty features you may dig, but for me, this one has just come a little too late to hold my interest. All the same, if you are after a modern classic slot, Sunset Delight wouldn’t be too bad a way to go.
