Play Gnome Wood Slot For Free

This summer has been a busy period for Rabcat. Hot off the tail of their Castle Builder II slot machine, the online casino software providers have teamed up with Microgaming to launch yet another new slot machine on their Quickfire platform.

This time, Gnome Wood is the object of everybody’s attention, and this fantasy-themed slot machine game could just turn a few heads with its fairy tale-esque characters, its luscious green landscapes, and its medium variance style of gameplay. We’ve seen slots like this before, though Rabcat does tend to do things rather differently.

Rabcat is an excellent developer of 3D and animated slot machine games. They also have one attribute which so many other mid-rank developers lack – originality.

Rabcat think outside of the box with their games, and it is for that reason that we have high hopes for the Gnome Wood slot machine game. Rabcat’s games are creative, clever and usually runaway success, even if they are surprising ones at that.

How to play

Gnome Wood features a very basic video slot structure. Players can expect to be able to find 5 reels and 25 paylines of action in this game, with all 25 lines fixed into place.

Players do have the luxury of some flexibility with their wagers, though, so expect to be able to stake anything from a base minimum of 25p per spin, right up to £50 per spin in total.

Players will find that they get a more than decent return for their bets in this game, with a good balance between stakes and prizes struck throughout the game.

Wild symbols: Wild symbols are generic in Gnome Wood. These symbols can substitute for all other icons in the game (barring scatters) and they can double the value of any winning combinations in which they appear. When wild symbols appear on the reels, they can trigger a Wandering Wild feature.

Wandering Wild bonus: Gnome Wood’s Wandering Wild bonus is activated when a wild symbol lands on the reels. It will slowly make its way one reel at a time to the leftmost reel, before disappearing off the screen.

Whilst it does this, players will be able to pocket re-spins. If further wilds land on the reels, the re-spins keep on coming. Only once the last wild has left the screen (via the first reel) does the Wandering Wild bonus end.

Free spin bonus: This slot machine game also comes with a free spins bonus round. The free games feature is triggered by landing 3 or more scatter icons anywhere on the reels during a single spin, just like you would expect in any other slot machine game.

In the feature, players receive a total of 10 free spins. The Wandering Wilds feature can be triggered in the bonus, with additional free games also there for the taking.

Maximum pay-outs

Players can win as much as 250x their total stake in the Gnome Wood slot machine. That’s not too shabby at all given the wagering range and fits right in there with what you would expect to find from a medium variance video slot machine game.

Of course, Gnome Wood is fantasy themed and its theme isn’t going to be everybody’s cup of tea. More to the point, the excitement level just isn’t quite as high in this game as in Castle Builder. Rabcat

Rabcat are one of the more original developers of slot games, so we’re somewhat disappointed that they haven’t used their skillset to think creatively with the features of this game.

We expected more from them. But, as far as fantasy-themed video slots go; Gnome Wood isn’t too far off what you’d expect to find in the online casino world from any other developer.
