Manic Millions Slot Review

This new NextGen Gaming video slot could fit in nicely this Halloween, even if it isn’t a ghost and ghouls themed slot per se. Instead, what the developers of this slot have come up with a mad scientist themed game.

This is a slot which can see you win respectable sums of money, even if it comes nowhere near the “millions” mark advertised in the title. Manic Millions offers quite a comical selection of images on its reels, many of which are animated.

These include an Igor-like assistant, a heavily bearded mad scientist, and a big brained mouse (sound familiar?).

Despite the nifty graphics, Manic Millions is still being pegged as a basic slot machine, and players should expect to find it entertaining, although not exactly something which is going to rock the online slot world to its foundations.

Developers

NextGen Gaming does develop pretty awesome slots. Although they are not considered by many gamers to be amongst the big dogs in the online slot world, there can be denying that many of their games can compete with others from more established developers.

Similarities can be found in all NextGen Gaming developed slots, and it isn’t always for the best, though. Wagering ranges change very little from game to game, and the features are often quite basic, and incredibly similar to the slots, too. In those regards, Manic Millions certainly isn’t any different.

The one area where this slot is quite different from other slots by this developer, is that it offers solid animation and graphics.

How to play

Located below the 5 reels of this slot is the wagering menu, and to be fair, NextGen Gaming has done a good job blending it in. The reels form a part of an electrical machine, as does the wagering menu. From there, you can choose to wager anything from $0.01 up to $25 per line on this game.

There are 25 lines in total, so your wager is going to range from a floor bet of just $0.25 per spin, up to a ceiling of $625 a spin. That is quite a broad wagering range, making Manic Millions suitable for players operating on virtually all budgets.

Features

Wild symbols: You remember the aforementioned mad scientist? He is the wild icon in this slot. Wilds are also second-best paying symbols in the game. They can substitute for all other symbols barring scatters.

Scatter symbols: Speaking of scatters, they appear as the Manic Millions Bonus icon. These logos can offer you scattered wins when 3, 4, or 5 appear anywhere on the reels, and are easily the best paying symbols in the slot.

Igor bonuses: In both the base game and the free spins bonus, Igor may decide to give you a little boost. The character can add wilds to 1 or more reels, and may also add scatters to the second, third, and/or fourth reels to give you a helping hand.

Free spins: If a player is able to land 3 of the aforementioned scatter symbols on the reels, they will trigger this slot’s free spins bonus round. Players will start off with a total of 10 free spins to enjoy.

There is an added wild feature in this slot, though. Igor is perfectly capable of making additional wilds appear on the reels, and it has to be said that the wilds appear far more frequently in this bonus than they do in the base game.

Gamble feature: Any win can technically be gambled. You simply need to click on the playing card icon to do so. Once you do, you will be able to select either a red or black card, or a suit to double or quadruple your win if you are correct. Guess incorrectly and you’ll lose the lot.

Maximum pay-outs

The top prize in this slot machine game is worth 1,250 coins. In order to bag this non-progressive prize, players are going to need to line up 5 scatter icons in any position on the reels.

The secondary prize for landing 5 wilds on a payline isn’t far off this marker, though, being worth 1,000 coins itself.

Summary

Manic Millions has its moments, although as we’ve said it is quite similar to many other slot machine games released by NextGen Gaming. We can praise the developers for the added Igor bonuses, which a bit of electricity to his mad scientist themed slot machine game.

Manic Millions is impressive by NextGen Gaming standards, and should be a welcome addition to any casinos carrying their software.
