How to play

Play ‘n Go haven’t put too much effort into the wagering menu bar. It is plain, dull, and boring. Even so, it is effective at allowing players to alter their stakes.

All 10 lines in this 5-reel slot are fixed into place, but you can choose coin denominations which range from $0.01 up to $2 in total, and bet as many as 5 of those per line.

Paylines are adjustable, too. With the Holiday Season slot, you are looking at a wagering range which extends upwards from $0.01 per line, per spin, to $100 a spin, respectively. Personally, we’d liked to have seen a few more paylines present in this slot, but there you go.

Features

Wild symbols: Wild symbols appear as presents, and these symbols can substitute for all other icons in the slot barring scatters. Again, there is nothing out of the ordinary with that.

Wild icons are also decent paying symbols, offering you the second best prizes in the game. Wilds can see you win up to 1,000 coins per line, if 5 appear on any active payline in the game.

Scatter symbols: Your scatters appear as champagne bottles and glasses. These symbols are the best paying icons in the slot, but they will also trigger a free spins bonus game if 5 or more appear in any positions on the reels at once. There is only one bonus feature in this slot, so you’d better make the most of it.

Free spins bonus: Like other Play ‘n Go slots, the free spins bonus in this slot is actually a Win Spins feature. This means that players are guaranteed a win on every spin.

It doesn’t matter how many scatters you triggered the bonus with, you will always start with 5 free games. You can pocket an additional 2 spins for every subsequent scatter you locate in the bonus game. The player can only win an additional 3 spins in total, though, which is a bit of a shame.

Maximum pay-outs

According to Play ‘n Go, it is possible to win as much as 500,000 coins with this game. They are mum on how that is possible, save for the fact that you need scatters to do it.

We seldom managed to win beyond a couple of thousand coins, and even then we managed it with wild symbols and not scatters.

Summary

Holiday Season is a decent slot, but it is hardly going to blow anybody away with its gameplay or graphics. Because this slot was the first out of the gate (so to speak), it has a more than reasonable chance of being the number one slot this Christmas.

However, if any other developer releases a Christmas themed slot which contains better features and/or graphics (and that won’t be too difficult), Play ‘n Go’s Holiday Season slot may struggle.
