A Dragon Shrine which contains little of either
Quickspin has released a new video slot, and it is being called Dragon Shrine. This is perhaps the worst name you could have given this slot, considering that it has precious little to with dragons or shrines.
There are two single images (one for each word) appearing in the slot, but virtually all of the other imagery in the slot has nothing to do with its theme.
Of course, there are many slots out which have themes that do not necessarily pertain to the their title, or vice-versa. Not all of them have been crippled by that problem.
Our verdict is that it is plain to see that Dragon Shrine will be. It isn’t just the title and theme which doesn’t appeal; the Dragon Shrine slot also lacks a handful of decent features.
Dragon Shrine has been released this month, and barely anybody has picked up on the story. It is hardly surprising that this game has failed to make waves, whereas other new slots are hotly reported on. Dragon Shrine just doesn’t cut it, and resembles a slot which has been produced solely to increase Quickspin’s catalogue.

What we love
There is one feature worth of mention in the Dragon Shrine slot. The slot contains 40 paylines in total, however, when the free spins bonus feature is triggered, the paylines with pay both ways. This effectively gives you double the chance of success.
Unfortunately, there are virtually no other reasons to smile considering what Dragon Shrine has to offer. We would like to have seen so much more from this game, but it seems that Quickspin has very little to offer in this game.
What we do not like
Pretty much everything, and it isn’t very often we get to say that. Dragon Shrine’s title is misleading, its theme is bad, its imagery is rubbish (largely consisting of big block gemstones and high playing card symbols), its features are mundane, and its entertainment level is low.
Whilst it is true that scatters can offer you free spins, and wilds can see you winning spiffy jackpots, these features are hardly groundbreaking. They appear in virtually all other slots, and those other slots tend to have better themes.
There are 5 reels and 20 paylines in the slot, but you won’t be able to adjust those. Expect to find rather inflexible wagers ranging from $0.20 up to $80 per spin. You’d have to be mad to spend that kind of cash on such a simplistic slot.
Worth playing?
It really breaks down like this. There are slots out there which can be played for the same $0.20 stake as Dragon Shrine, and offer considerably more. At the very least, they will be entertaining. Dragon Shrine is a poor slot at best, and we’re being kind with that.
There is no excitement level, and you find yourself aimlessly spinning the reels wondering why you are continuing to plough cash into this game. Do yourself a favour, a play something else instead. As it happens, anything else will do.
