Choose a Side to Fight for on Lost Vegas Slot Machine by Microgaming

lost vegas slot logoWe’ve seen a few zombie apocalypse themed video slots out there, so does the news that Microgaming have decided to launch their own this week wasn’t met with the greatest of surprise.

Microgaming will have their work cut out for them, though, if they hope to match some of the better releases in this genre.

Their newest slot machine focuses on combining gambling in Las Vegas with the walking dead, and they have done so well. At least from a gameplay perspective. Visually, the newly released slot falls a little on its face, and is just too stereotypical and generic to be commended highly. Still, graphics aren’t everything, are they?

Played over 5 reels and with their unique 243 ways to win structure, Lost Vegas is a step back to Microgaming’s comfort zone. Familiar gaming systems and payline structures make for a taste of the familiar, after Microgaming’s recent spell producing 15, 20, 25, and 30-line slots.

Playable for as little as 0.30 per spin, and costing no more than 45.00 a spin, this slot can see you win as much as one-thousand times your total bet.

What we love

There are features we like, and features we don’t in the Lost Vegas slot machine. First up are the features we do like, and few features trump the Zombie Mode free spins bonus.

Yes, there are two modes you can choose to play in this slot – Survivor or Zombie. Although both have free spin bonus rounds, the Zombie Mode is much better.

In the Zombie themed free spins bonus expanding wild symbols will gradually turn up on the reels. They will eventually cover all of the reels of the slot, and you will keep bagging an unlimited selection of free spins until they do. You are therefore guaranteed to have 5 fully wild reels at some point in the bonus round.

What we do not like

By contrast, Lost Vegas’ other free spins bonus round is pretty bland stuff. If you choose to play the Survivor Mode free spins bonus, you will get all of the winnings from low paying combinations stacked up in a counter known as “the stash”, and at the end of the bonus they will be paid out to you. It is hardly exciting stuff.

Moreover, the other bonuses in the slot are fairly bland, too. You can collect a few instant win bonuses here and there, as well as other randomly triggered treats, but they are hardly going to blow you away.

Worth playing?

If you love the whole zombie apocalypse theme, then you are in luck with this slot. If you love Microgaming’s 243 ways to win structure, you’re in luck.

If you want a slot which is 100% original, then you may be a tad disappointed with what Microgaming have come up with in this slot. However, if you want a free spins bonus round which guarantees the big bucks, then you could do very well giving Lost Vegas a run for its money.
