Microgaming’s Lost Vegas slot is a new 243 ways to win slot machine game, and it is one which is based on zombies and the end of the world. If you ever saw the Resident Evil movies (as bad as they were), there is a scene where they must fight of Zombies in Las Vegas.
Well, Lost Vegas is kind of like that, in more ways than one. Lost Vegas is your run-of-the-mill zombie killing themed slot, so there is nothing original in that department. Can the Vegas twist, and the special features make it stand out from others in the genre, though?
Microgaming may have focused a lot on simple 15-30 payline slots with many of their newer releases, but they’ve gone back to basics with the Lost Vegas slot. This slot sees the return of their 243 ways to win payline structure, which has proven so popular in the past.
Microgaming have also pulled out all the stops to make the new Lost Vegas slot friendly with mobile smartphones and tablet users, as well as those playing on laptops and PCs.

How to play
Microgaming’s have done an “alright job” of constructing a reasonably themed wagering control menu. It doesn’t fit in perfectly, but virtually nobody will care about that. Instead, the focus will be on the wagering options themselves.
As expected, you cannot adjust any of the paylines in the game, and you won’t be betting on a line bet basis. Instead, minimum bets in this slot will set you back a predictable 0.30 per spin, whilst maximum stake bets will cost you no more than 45.00 a pop.
Choose a mode: Before gameplay can begin, players must choose whether they wish to play in Survivor or Zombie mode. You can change your mind at any point in the game, but your choice will affect which types of bonus features are available to you.
Standard bonuses can be triggered at random after any non-winning spin in both modes, though. They are the Fist of Cash and Blackout bonuses.
Fist of Cash: This bonus can see players pocket an instant cash prize, when a zombie’s fist appears on the screen.
Blackout bonus: In this bonus, a scan is made of all the symbols on the reels, and you will pocket an instant cash prize based on those symbols.
However, if you have but a single scatter on the reels, a free spins bonus is triggered based on your chosen mode. Free spins can also be won by landing 3 hazard symbols on the reels during the base game.
Free spins: In survivor mode, the free spins game all lower paying symbols will be removed from the reels. A cash prize will be added to a “stash”, and that will be paid out when the bonus ends.
In zombie mode, an infection feature will infect reels and turn them into stacked wilds during the free spins bonus. Once all 5 reels are “infected” the bonus ends. This latter bonus option is considerably better in our opinion. Five stacked wilds guaranteed on the screen; who wouldn’t want a slice of that?
Lost Vegas is a non-progressive video slot, and it is one which can see you win roughly 1,000x your total bet. That might seem like a smaller sum than you are used to seeing in Microgaming slots, but remember there are a lot of different ways to win in this game, and you will win frequently.
Lost Vegas certainly looks the part, and it has the features to boot. This is considerably better than many of the other zombie apocalypse themed slots out there on the net. We love the idea of the infected reels, and the cheap wagers should lure in the crowds.
Graphically, Microgaming have done an okay job. It could have looked more visually pleasing, but at the end of the day, Microgaming have chosen to focus solely on the features side of this slot, and we couldn’t be happier.
Even if you are not exactly into the whole end of the world thing, you will want to get a piece of the action with the Lost Vegas slot.
