bloopers slot logoBloopers is a virtual slot machine about what goes on behind cameras in big Hollywood productions, or at least that’s the idea.

The reel symbols in this game are the traditional ones (10, J, Q, K & A), plus a male movie star (a chiseled Pierce Brosnan type), a female movie star (a voluptuous blonde in a red cocktail dress), a movie reel, and other movie-related symbols.

Bonus symbols in this game are stars like the ones on the Walk of Fame, featuring either a stylized camera, or the bloopers. The bloopers aren’t really what we call bloopers, but rather cartoon characters that have different movie jobs, like sound tech or stuntman. Think of minions from the Despicable Me movie, but in different colors and much less annoying.

Elk Studios is a Swedish developer, founded just in 2012. They have a “Mobile First” philosophy towards development, tailoring their games to mobile platforms above all.

This definitely shows in Bloopers simplified user interface. A strategy like that is a safe bet in today’s iGaming market. Some noteworthy games by Elk Studios include Taco Brothers, The Lab, and Electric Sam.

How to play it

Bloopers has a very simple control scheme. Just above the lower right corner of the screen you have the spin button. Press it for regular spin, hold it for auto spin. You can set auto spin for 10, 25, 50 or 100 spins. On the top left corner, you have the menu. Here you can adjust settings like sound, or consult the paytable and rules.

The lower left corner has the bet menu, where you can set your bet level, or set it automatically according to different strategies. The strategies can scale your bet according to your balance, increase it after a number of losses, or increase it after winning. Perfect for the careful player who wishes to have a smart approach, yet not lose time fiddling with settings constantly.

This game has a 5×3 set of reels, and 243 ways to win. Bloopers does away with pay lines, so it only matters that you have 3 or more symbols show up on adjacent reels to trigger a combination.

Special features

This game’s features put the Bloopers on center stage. First of all, there’s the Sound Tech, who’ll show up randomly during regular spins. He’ll toss around Sticky Wild symbols around the reels, increasing your chances to get winning combinations. The other five Bloopers appear during free spin rounds.

Bloopers Bonus Game, this game’s name for free spin rounds, is triggered by landing three or more bonus symbols on the reels. One of the stars, either the male or the female, will be chosen to act as a sticky wild during the free spin rounds. These symbols stack, and if they fill up an entire reel, the Bonus Game is over.

Two Bloopers will be selected, then, to grant you their bonuses. The Bloopers are either triggered by landing “their” symbol (J, Q, or K), or will show up randomly, like the Stuntman. Each Blooper has its own bonus, like extra free spins (by removing sticky wilds), of extra wild symbols.

Maximum payouts

This game has a jackpot of 180,000 coins. Coin value will depend on your currency, and it’ll be shown at the top right corner of the screen. Theoretical Return to Player (RTP) value is 96.1%

This game has beautiful visuals, and fun special features. Its features aren’t all that innovative, but they are definitely good, and very well packaged. Given its high potential payouts, this game is worth trying, without a doubt.
