Yggdrasil unveils their new regal progressive jackpot slot

empire-fortune-slot-logoYggdrasil is aiming to take players on a regal gaming experience with their brand new, elegant, and might we add hugely profitable video slot, Empire Fortune.

Okay, from the look of it, it does appear to boring – quite boring; but that’s not all we’ve got to say on the matter. The new slot was launched this month to very little fanfare at all, but perhaps it should have been. After all, the new Empire Fortune slot does come with three progressive jackpots to be won.

Yggdrasil’s new Empire Fortune slot is one of the first proper progressives to ever be released by the Scandinavian online casino software providers, and it certainly looks as though it is going to impress.

There are three progressive jackpots in total, and although they may appear difficult to win, there are chances galore to bag big wins in other parts of the slot. Empire Fortune was released at top casino sites this week, and here is how we found it.

What we love

Obviously, nobody is going to complain at having three progressive jackpots to win. Nobody is going to throw a wobbler at the fact there are also several side-bonuses to claim, even if you fail to land one the big tamales.

Free spins in this video slot can number up to 30 in all, and players can also pocket scatters which rise as high as 10x the normal rate of pay in total.

Wagering is also cheap for this major progressive. Bets only cost $0.20 at the cheapest, and they won’t cost you any more than $100 a pop even when you are playing for the big bucks. Throw in a nifty hold feature which will help give you a second chance on some of the features and you’re golden with this slot.

What we do not like

Not everything about the Empire Fortune slot is peachy, though. Sure, we happen to think that the surplus of progressive jackpots is a great thing. What isn’t is what you have to do to land them.

You will need to trigger a bonus (you’ll need at least 4 or 5 bonus icons to stand any chance of landing the progressive), then spin a bonus wheel and hope (on the off chance) that the wheel happens to land on the progressive prizes when there are so many others for them to land on.

It’s a tall order, and it doesn’t get any easier with those bonus symbol requirements prior to spinning the bonus wheel.

This slot is also a little bit boring. Sure, the gameplay is pretty nifty, but the thematically, and from a graphical perspective, Empire Fortune is dull. There is excitement to be had initially, especially when you trigger the bonus. However, the longer you play, the more likely you are to fall asleep.

Worth playing?

Empire Fortune hasn’t quite showcased Yggdrasil’s gaming prowess as much as they would have liked. Sure, it is a decent game which can hand you big wins – very big wins. That is great, if you don’t mind enduring a snooze-fest whilst you wait for the big wins to come in.
