Playtech Just Announced Buffalo Blitz Slot Machine
Playtech have had a relatively quiet summer, when it comes to new slot machine games.
Whilst several of their competitors have been churning out the new releases, Playtech had been holding back – for reasons best known to themselves.
That was until recently, when they officially unveiled their latest new slot machine game, Buffalo Blitz.
Calling Buffalo Blitz a new slot is a bit misleading. Whilst it certainly is new for Playtech, you may have spotted some of the features, and indeed the theme before.
The slot bears a striking resemblance to WMS Gaming’s Raging Rhino, complete with the 4,096 paylines that it carries over its 6-reel format. Raging Rhino was certainly an impressive slot when it was released 2 years ago, so where does that put Buffalo Blitz?
Well, the good news is that most players probably won’t be able to compare the games. The two developers seldom allow their games to appear together a casino, so it really is a case of one or the other. What we love
Even if this slot is quite similar to another major title, nobody is going to turn their head away from the chance to play with over four-thousand paylines. Given that the slot is also quite cheap to play, the ability to get to grips with so many different ways to win is instantly appealing. That is certainly going to be a major lure to Playtech slot lovers the internet over.
We’re also quite fond of the wagering range in this slot. Playtech have chosen not to go out of their depth, by keeping wagers nice and simple. Rather obviously, you cannot wager on a bet per line basis, but your wagers are still kept nice and cheap, with the betting range stemming from 0.40 up to 200.00 per spin.
What we do not like
Although there are stacked symbols in this slot (in the form of a high paying buffalo symbol), we don’t like them. They are only really useful if they appear on the first three reels, and this doesn’t happen often. Instead, they hog space on the reels uselessly, denying you potential wins, which is quite infuriating.
Whilst we’re on it, we’re not that keen on the theme either. Yes, it features buffalo blazing across the open plain, but you have to ask yourself; if it wasn’t for Playtech’s need to take on Raging Rhino head to head, what would this slot’s theme really be?
It could have been really special, because the current theme is a little bit on the boring side.
Worth playing?
For all its sticking points, Buffalo Blitz is still worth a look. If you can’t get your hands on Raging Rhino, this slot will certainly do.
If you love large numbers of paylines, and cheap bets, this slot will do. If you are after something really original and creative from Playtech, Buffalo Blitz doesn’t exactly tick many boxes.
