iSoftBet released a horrible new slot, and it is fantastic

Halloween has come and gone. Predictably, this year we were inundated with a wealth of so-so Halloween themed slots. They contained ghosts and ghouls, candy and witches. It wasn’t really intimidating or frightening stuff, was it?

We know what you’re thinking. The last few films in this franchise have royally sucked. Well, this new video slot is based on the first film in the series, and bypasses the rest. Aside from the 243 ways to win structure, and simple enough special features, the most endearing thing about this slot are its graphics.

They aren’t bang-out 3D graphics, if that is what you’re thinking. They are, however, frightening scary. It is about time.

What we love

Most true horror fans have longed for a slot which does away with the vampire-cum-werewolf nonsense, and truly delivers a masterstroke in horror. Smaller-scale developer iSoftBet have managed to do exactly that, and what a whopper they have created.

This is a slot with demonic little girls, blood splattered hands, and a randomly triggered special feature which WILL make you jump.

That randomly triggered feature is known as the Paranormal Event, and it can see up to 5 extra wilds pounce onto the screen to elevate both your wins, and your heart rate. This slot also offers up a bonus wheel, which can trigger one of three cracking free spin features, or an instant win cash prize.

There are also scatters and wilds, and all manner of standard slot features to be had. Throw in the fact that this slot only costs $6 a pop at its most costly, and there is absolutely everything to love about this scarefest of a slot.

What we do not like

Aside from being scared? There’s not a whole lot to complain about. Paranormal Activity is a licensed slot. As you have seen from Microgaming’s Dark Knight, and Playtech’s Marvel progressives, once a software developer loses its license, it is curtains to the slot.

Eventually, there is a possibility that we could end up losing this masterpiece. The good news is that the slot is brand new, so we’ve hopefully get years left of playing this title. That’s plenty of time for iSoftBet (or indeed another developer) to create another horror themed slot.

Worth playing?

Without a shadow of a doubt. Paranormal Activity is (to the best of our knowledge) the first truly scary horror themed slot on the net.

Once this slot has proven itself a success (and we have every reason to believe that it will), other developers will start working on their own scary slots. Until then, this is the benchmark for horror themed slots on the net, and it is a must play game.
