Halloween Fortune II aims to surpass its predecessor
Halloween Fortune II is rolling out to online casinos this October, and Playtech has tried to make this sequel to the already popular Halloween Fortune slot the be all and end of all in this genre.
Given the hugely impressive standard they set with their first game, even the mighty Playtech are going to have their work cut out for them to trump the original Halloween Fortune.
Known rather dully as Halloween Fortune II, Playtech has brought everything back to the table. The witches are sexier, the symbols and imagery are crisper, and payline structure and wagering ranges have been extended. Surely that makes Halloween Fortune II a better slot than its predecessor doesn’t it? Hold that thought.
Expect the Halloween Fortune II to be released any day now, as it will obviously be aiming for a Halloween release. It will want to get a head start on other developers’ Halloween themed games.
Honesty, though, it shouldn’t need too much of a leg up. Halloween Fortune and its sequel are still very much at the top of the totem when it comes to these style slots.
What we love
Halloween Fortune II is played over 5 reels and 25 paylines, which is a whole 5 paylines more than its predecessor. This has also enabled Playtech to extend the wagering a bit, with the maximum wager now pegged at $250 a pop, and minimum bets costing just 20c.

That is great for players who favour big stakes or low-roller bets. Playtech have also come up with a cracking free spins feature. This bonus in this game offers you increasing multipliers every 2 spins, and there are 10 of those for you to enjoy.
A frozen wild in the middle of the third reel will be present throughout the bonus round, too, and that is something we really do like.
What we do not like
There are elements where Playtech could have made even more ground, but have somewhat dropped the ball. For starters, there was a great Witches’ Brew bonus in the original game that offered big multipliers. It has been omitted from this game.
Secondly, the jackpot in this slot has been reduced to 3,000 coins (it was 10,000 coins in the original game). Even though those certainly aren’t positives, they don’t really stop this slot being a winner this Halloween.
Worth playing?
In some ways, Halloween Fortune II is considerably better than Halloween Fortune (graphics, the wagering range, the free spins bonus, and paylines). In others, the predecessor was better (more bonuses, larger multipliers, bigger jackpots).
Which one you prefer really does depends on what you like, but we’re still partial to the very first Halloween Fortune game. Either way, there is enough about both of these slots to keep all other Halloween themed video slots at bay. Nothing can challenge the bar set by Playtech.
They have the monopoly on Halloween themed slots, and now they have something of a franchise going on.
