Batman is back and it isn’t a joke

We’ve mentioned before that Playtech is bringing the Caped Crusader to its slot platform, replacing the Microgaming Batman themed slots with its own.

That is certainly good news to any superhero slot fans lamenting the loss of Playtech’s Marvel progressive jackpot slots. Indeed, the new DC licensed superhero slots could even replace those famous games, when they get launched later this year.

Batman and Joker: Joker Reels is one of the first new Batman games getting the go-ahead from Playtech. The slot will feature a customary 5-reel, 25-line setup, and contain several of the elements most loved amongst those Marvel superhero themed slot players, such as four randomly triggered progressive jackpots.

In many ways, these new DC games are a continuation of the old Marvel classics – with the same format, the works – rather than a new set of games.

Any players who have enjoyed Playtech’s run of several years with these types of slots will be fairly impressed with what the new Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels slot has to offer, as they will with the other slots from this developer.

What we love

Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels is certainly no slouch. This slot contains four progressive jackpots which are randomly triggered, and can see you win Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand cash prizes. They are won via a click and win bonus round, just like their Marvel predecessors.

What we do not like

If we had to find one small flaw in this game, it would be the features.

Although the features which appear in the Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels slot are certainly entertaining, they just appear slightly less grandiose than those which appear in the Batman and Catwoman: Cash Slot, which is another Batman themed, DC licensed game coming out at the same time from Playtech.

This is hardly the end of the world, though, and the slot still stands firm even without as many features.

Worth playing?

Absolutely. If you miss Microgaming’s Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises slots, are having trouble coming to terms with the end of Playtech’s Marvel line, or simply don’t want to drop down to lower levels of superhero themed gaming with smaller developers, Batman and Joker: Joker Reels could certainly fill the void.

When this slot is eventually released, expect a big crowd to turn up and give it a run for its money.
