Play Flame Slot For Free
Flame seems like a bit of a bizarre name for a slot machine like this. NextGen Gaming’s oddly-themed slot features various wild animals as emblems on the reels, as well as the classic high playing card symbols.
There is a bit of an elemental theme running throughout the game, and the developers have chosen to title the slot on fire, but you could never really tell from the design of the slot.
Developers
NextGen Gaming have slowly been changing the way that their slots look and feel of late. In previous years, we saw plenty of wagering options located below the reels of the game. Now, though, the developers have chosen to offer up a wagering dial (mobile-friendly, of course) located to the right of the reels. This new look is smoother and shows that the developers are getting with the times.

How to play
The circular wagering menu can be jabbed with fingers or clicked with a mouse to alter your bets. There are 20 paylines sitting on the 5 reels of the game, although wagers cost a little less than you might expect. By using the options available, players can stake anything from $0.15 per spin up to $75 a game. Quite why the slot is so cheap in relation to the number of lines it carries is a mystery.
Features
Wild symbols: These appear as pink-haired girls (again, a symbol totally separate from the theme). Wild symbols can appear on the second, third and fourth reels of the game, and can replace all others in the slot save for bonus icons.
Bonus symbols: These show up as sun emblems, and they can appear on the second, third and fourth reels. Players will need 3 of these if they hope to trigger the free spin bonus offered in the game.
Randomly triggered bonuses: A few of these have found their way into the game. Players can use Cross Flare bonuses to bag wins in both directions, whilst Fire Whirl features see animal symbols pay 20x their average rate of pay if they appear on an indicated reel. Firestorm bonuses offer players the chance to combine wild and bonus symbols, whilst Flare Up features offer 10x multipliers on all wins.
The Live Embers bonus turns all playing card symbols on the three central reels into wilds, whilst the Spontaneous Combustion feature turns element symbols into animal icons. Lastly, the Wild Inferno bonus offers a re-spin with wild symbols becoming wild reels.
Free spin bonus: triggered by landing 3 of the bonus icons on the second, third and fourth reels; this feature offers a total of 15 free spins. Players will note that during the bonus round, the randomly triggered bonuses occur far more frequently, multiplying your chances of landing good wins whilst the bonus is being played.
Maximum pay-outs
The RTP (return to player) rate is about the industry standard in this game and capped at 95.51% in all. Players will note that the jackpot is non-progressive and is fair and reasonable given what you’re wagering per spin. It is capped at 750x your total bet and is paid out when 5 golden lions appear on a payline.
Summary
Flame certainly isn’t going to blow any players away with its design, but it does have enough quality to impress with its features. Any lover of NextGen Gaming will love the direction the software providers have taken with this new mobile-friendly slot.
