Paranormal Activity Slot Review

This film was released to rave reviews. Based on the mysterious world of “the other side”, the movie could be regarded in a few years as a cult classic. What a shame that its producers decided to keep spawning below-par sequels, some of which might as well be straight-to-video releases.

This new iSoftBet doesn’t take them into consideration, though, and is solely based on the first successful movie. This slot wasn’t released in time for Halloween, and with good reason. iSoftBet’s Paranormal Activity slot is not a Halloween themed game.

There are no spooks and ghouls here. This is a genuine horror and spine-tingling themed slot. There aren’t enough of those out there if you ask us. Prepare for a scare.

You cannot help but find that iSoftBet is a bit of a hit-and-miss type of company. Sometimes they can completely miss the point in a slot, and develop something not far off utter garbage. Other times, they can really knock it out of the park.

Paranormal Activity is most certainly a case of the latter. iSoftBet has smashed it. There aren’t enough really scary slots out there, but the casino software providers have developed one right here.

In many regards, the features aren’t that unique (very on par with other iSoftBet games), but from a graphical perspective, this slot is simply chilling, and exactly what you want from a horror themed slot.

How to play

The wagering menu in this game isn’t overly complex. Instead, there is a basic button for adjusting your bet, as well as a spin and auto-spin button, and a button which provides you with access to the pay-table, all blended in with a white noise effect.

This slot features 243 ways to win, so flexibility is at a minimum when it comes to bets. You can still wager anything from a floor of $0.30 per spin, up to a total of $6 per spin. This makes Paranormal Activity dirt cheap, and affordable for all. How many of you will be able to stomach the eeriness of the game, though?

Wild symbols: The demonic child acts as a wild symbol in this slot. Easily the creepiest symbol in the game, the wild can replace all other symbols in the slot (bonuses and scatters excluded), although she cannot offer cash prizes all on her lonesome.

Scatter symbols: The bloodied hand is a scatter in Paranormal Activity. Scatters can offer you cash wins, and you can actually bag as much as 90, 300, or 750 coins for 3, 4 or 5 appearing on the reels in any position.

Bonus symbols: Paranormal Activity’s bonus symbols are capable of jumping out of the first, third, and fifth reels. Should they do so at the same time, the player will trigger a bonus wheel feature.

Bonus Wheel: The bonus wheel will determine just which bonus feature you are going to get. You could end up with Paranormal Spins, Possessed Spins, Demon Spins, or an instant win cash prize. The latter is rather self-explanatory.

Free spins: Paranormal Activity Paranormal Spins bonus offers players unlimited free spins until they have bagged 5 wins. Multipliers increase during this bonus. Meanwhile, the Possessed Spins bonus promises a total of 10 free games with extra stacked wilds. The final feature is the Demon Spins bonus, which offers 15 free spins with random demon symbols appearing on the reels and becoming extra wilds.

Paranormal Event: At any point in the base game, a Paranormal Event may be randomly triggered. When it is, up to 5 extra wild symbols may jump onto the reels, and help bolster your odds of landing a win.

Maximum pay-outs

There are certainly plenty of reasons to be cheerful when playing this slot. Scatter symbols are the best paying symbols in the slot (being worth up to 750 coins, as we’ve said), although the Ouija board isn’t too far behind, being worth 500 coins if you can land 5 on a line. Paranormal Activity really is a case of scream when you’re winning.

At first glance, the features in this iSoftBet slot aren’t that original. We’ve seen most of them before in other games. However – so what? They are all good features, and they can all lead to frighteningly good wins.

The main reason you should play this game is simply. There are so many childish, pathetic, and simply unscary slot machines out there, that it is about time that a casino software provider did something about it, and created a genuinely terrifying slot.

Credit has to go iSoftBet for blowing the horror themed slot genre wide open with this scary slot, that really is a real credit to them, and pays homage to the original and successful film in the series.
