The Link Slot Review

The Link is a new video slot which has been unveiled by small-scale developer Gamevy. What you have here is a very basic slot machine game, and one which is ideal for newbies and first-timers. There may not be too much excitement to be had for more seasoned veterans of the online slot world, though.

They will be expecting free spins, bonus symbols, and instant win prizes, and there simply isn’t any of that available in The Link.

The Link features stars, squares, crosses, diamonds and other shape-styled symbols, and is played over 3 reels, in a 3×3 grid. Despite the lack of features, there are still 8 paylines running over this slot’s 3 reels.

The developers of this new slot machine have actually won awards for their slots in the past. They were the winners of the ICE: Total Gaming “Game to Watch” prize this year, for instance. Even so, their games are hard to come by, and don’t appear at too many casinos in the gaming world.

They develop slots based on game shows, but they also work on scratch cards and lotteries. This multi-gaming genre approach has left them with only a few slots to offer, of which The Link is their latest offering.

How to play

Unlike most slots, the wagering menu bar is not located below the reels of the slot. On the contrary, it is actually located away to the right of them. Below the reels you can find your balance, and total bet.

On the right hand side of the reels you can choose to select an auto-spin feature, or adjust your bets to anything from $1 to $10 in total. As you can imagine, The Link is not going to be a cheap slot for you to play at all, especially since it offers you so little in return for your wagers.

Once a wager has been made, players can spin the reels of the slot. There are 8 paylines for you to win on, criss-crossing across the 3 reels of the slot.

Crosses and circle icons pay the least, whilst triangles and square icons may significantly better. Nothing pays better than diamonds or star-featuring combinations, though.

Wild symbol: Believe it or not, there is actually a wild symbol included in this slot machine game. It is represented by the star icon, and it can substitute for other symbols in the slot – all of them.

Wild symbols do not offer cash values on their own, though – only if they form a part of a winning combination.

Maximum pay-outs

The best paying symbol in the slot is the diamond, which can see you win 2, 25, 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 3,000, or 5,000 coins if it appears on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 paylines in total.

However, any winning combination to feature a star wild can be worth exactly the same. In this manner, there are two ways for you to pocket The Link’s non-progressive jackpot of 5,000 coins.

Even if players are looking for a classic slot machine to play, The Link simply won’t suffice. Yes, it has 8 paylines and it has a wild. Those are nice features to have in a classic slot, but the wagering range is too extortionate for what you get in return.

The Link offers you little, but asks for a lot in terms of stakes. Gamevy may have won awards for their other slot machine games, but we can safely say that they won’t be picking up any prizes for this release.

The Link is limited in features, costly in wagers, mediocre for graphics, and doesn’t really tick any boxes for slot players at all. If you do come across this rare new slot, it is best to give it a miss.
