Free Play of Emperor of the Sea Slot

Microgaming’s new Emperor of the Sea slot launched in March 2017 and is unique in that it offers a choice of three different payline structure to bet with.

The new slot machine game contains a distinctly Asian theme, whilst at the same time it allows you to prosper from some of the more commonplace Microgaming developed special features, such as Rolling Reels, and increasing wild stacks. It can be found in virtually all major Microgaming powered casinos and is a mobile-friendly slot.

Developers

Emperor of the Sea is a wonderful kind of fusion slot. Normally when we talk of fusion slots, we’re talking either of two themes blended into one, or a blend of classic and video slot features. Emperor of the Sea is different, though.

It offers a fusion blend of tried and tested, much-loved Microgaming features which new and current ones. That alone should make Emperor of the Sea stand out from other Asian themed slots, and make no mistake about; there are plenty of Asian themed slots to choose from of late.

How to play

The wagers really do vary in this slot machine game, depending on how many lines you wish to play with. On the one hand, you could opt to play with just 38 paylines, in which case expect to wager $0.38 per spin.

On the other, you could play with 68 or 88 paylines, giving the slot minimum wagers of $0.68 and $0.88 per spin, respectively. The choice is yours. The top wager in this slot is capped at $44.00 per spin, though.

Features

Wild symbols: Emperor of the Sea utilises the game’s own logo as its wild symbol. Wild symbols are perfectly capable of appearing stacked on the reels of this slot machine and can substitute for all other icons save for scatters. Wilds appear in both the base game and the free spins bonus round.

Scatter symbols: Scatter icons appear as golden ingots, and players will need to land 3 or more of these in any position on the reels to land scattered wins. Those wins are multiples of your total bet. Scatter icons can also trigger a free spins bonus in the Emperor of the Sea slot when 3 or more appear on the screen at any one time.

Free spins bonus: The beauty of the Emperor of the Sea free spins bonus is that this is where all those wonderful Microgaming features come into play – both old and new. A Rolling Reels feature will see any winning symbols disappear and be replaced by new ones, coupled with an increasing multiplier.

This gives the player the chance to bag multiple wins on a single spin. A newer feature worked into the design of this bonus round is the Growing Wilds feature. Every spin of the bonus offers to increase the number of wilds appearing in stacked by 1 wild. Wild stacks can grow by up to 15 symbols with this feature.

Maximum pay-outs

This is a medium variance online slot machine game. You do have total control over your bets, and the number of lines that you play with, but since there are so many different features designed to help you win, expect to find a petite non-progressive jackpot in this game, and one which is only worth around 1,000x your total bet.

Summary

Emperor of the Sea does one thing better than the rest – it combines a much-loved Microgaming feature (Rolling Reels) with one of their newer features (Growing Wilds) in a wonderful fusion slot.

The theme itself isn’t going to wow too many people – we’ve seen it all before. Emperor of the Sea is never going to be Microgaming’s flagship slot, but its features will certainly lure in players, and rightly so.
