Flame of Fortune is a video slot game which offers a number of features, where the player has a big chance to win big, but also requires a big bankroll and a witty play strategy. This is probably one of the few video slot games where the player decisions directly affect the payout outcome.

Most of the features and the game play in Flame of Fortune depend on the actual bet per spin used. If the player is spinning the reels on bets up to $2, the wild symbol in the game (Dove) substitutes for all symbols expect for the Golden Symbols.

If the total bet is over $2 per spin the Wild Symbol will substitute for all symbols on the reels including the Golden Symbols. The Golden Symbols in Flame of Fortune don’t have some very big payout attached, but 5 of them on a pay line trigger the Fortunate Drop Feature.

This feature is played with separate symbols and on a different screen than the standard base play. Here there are 5×5 reels and rows and the symbols have the Cascade design. Winning combinations are formed between 3 or more matching symbols, horizontally or vertically.

After each win the symbols involved are removed and new symbols drop to take their place and possibly create more winning combinations. The feature ends when no more winning combinations are formed on the screen. Once this feature ends the player can make a choice between taking what he won or spin the Flame of Fortune Wheel.

If you are not happy with what you’ve won so far the Flame of Fortune Wheel is probably a good choice to make. Here you can win a cash prize or an enhanced Fortune Drop with additional features. The Enhanced Fortune drop can contain Gold Reels, expanding wilds or wild reels. This goes to the Red Wheel, while the Blue Wheel can contain up to 3 Golden Reel Symbols.

The Big Bet feature is standard to Barcrest slots and can be played on a single bet of $20, $30 or $50. This awards 5 and 8 free spins plus a spin on the Wheel of Fate or Super Wheel of Fate where you can win additional features.

Barcrest Software is doing a really good job with their latest video slot games. Flame of Fortune will definitely attract some high roller players because of the overall design it has, the Big Bet option and the big payout potential.

The visual effects are on a decent level and you can feel the tension while you spin the reels thanks to the background music.

The features look great, but it still takes a decent strategy in order to maximize your winnings. The Fortune Drop feature can be very rewarding at times, but if you ask for too much and go to the Wheels of Fate, you may end up with much less than you expected.
