Empire Fortune Slot Review

Empire Fortune is a brand new Yggdrasil developed slot, and one which offers a minimalistic setup, but is still able to offer you an interesting array of bonuses and features to enjoy. Empire Fortune is even equipped with a progressive jackpot for you to win.

In fact, it is equipped with three of them. Empire Fortune features some rather basic and predictable imagery, but don’t let that stop you from giving it a go. If you can look past the rudimentary jewels and gemstones which litter the reels of this slot, you may just find it a real treat to play.

Empire Fortune has been released at most casinos which offer Yggdrasil games (although a few do not offer progressive jackpots, so have therefore elected to give this one a miss), so you should be able to find it simply enough.

Yggdrasil is an up and coming Scandinavian online casino software provider. They are named after the mythical tree in Norse mythology, the tree which extends up towards the heavens and links worlds. The casino software developers are at the forefront of developing mobile slots and ones which have quirky and original themes.

This gives them a leg up on rivals NetEnt, who tend to be more neutral with their themes. They have released a lot of new slots recently, but this, the newest Yggdrasil slot, is the only new progressive jackpot slot they have released in a long time.

Yggdrasil don’t really dive into progressives, which makes this release all the more exciting.

How to play

Players will see that Empire Fortune is played over 5 reels and 20 paylines. From the wagering menu bar below the reels, you are going to be able to alter your coin values, but not any of the paylines in the game.

The menu bar itself fits with the regal and elegant theme of this slot, and doesn’t look remotely out of place.

The same menu bar can see your alter your coin values so that you will end up wagering anything from a floor bet of just $0.20 per spin, up to a ceiling bet which is fixed at $100.00 per spin.

The Hold Feature: First up, we need to look at the Hold Feature. This can be triggered when a player lands 2 bonus icons and/or free spin symbols on the reels.

The reels with those symbols will be held whilst the others will re-spin. By doing this, the slot gives players a second chance to trigger one of the two bonus rounds in the slot.

Free Spins: Free spins are triggered by landing 3 or more of the scattered jester icons anywhere on the reels.

Players will start the free spins bonus with 10, 20, or 30 free spins, depending on whether they land 3, 4 or 5 scatters in total. Players will also pocket multipliers of 2x, 4x and 10x for these scatters, too.

Bonus Rounds: There are no wilds in this slot, but you can trigger a bonus round. Landing 3, 4 or 5 bonus icons on the reels will trigger the feature.

The bonuses are awarded via a three-tiered crown. Which tier you get to play on depends on how many bonus icons you landed, with 3, 4 or 5 offering bottom, middle, or top tier gaming.

Players could end up landing a progressive jackpot bonus round, or failing that they could trigger one of several other wheel prizes.

These include a win worth between 40 and 2,500 coins, a win worth between 20 and 500 coins, mystery wins worth 250 to 5,000 coins, the free spins bonus, or a Fireworks Feature which offers 3, 6 or 12 rockets. Each rocket lands on a cash prize, and may or may not include progressives.

Maximum pay-outs

Triggering the bottom tier won’t hand you a progressive jackpot. You need to be playing in the middle or top level. If you land on the gold bar on the middle level, you will win the Golden Jackpot.

You can land the Diamond Jackpot if you land the diamond symbol on the top level. Land the golden jester on the top level of the wheel and you will pocket the Empire Jackpot, which is the biggest jackpot in this video slot.

It is certainly not going to be easy to win those progressives, however there are other top prizes to enjoy in Empire Fortune.

It may be a tad boring (if we’re being honest), but if Yggdrasil’s goal was to simply create a decent paying slot, then at least they have certainly succeeded in that.
