How to play

WMS Gaming have tried to blend in the wagering menu bar with the game. If you look at the counters below the reels, you can just make out the appearance of a mask.

Of course, the spin button, and arrow option (which allows you to adjust your bet) have little to do with the theme of the game at all, so WMS Gaming have kind of missed the boat on that.

Leaving the look of the menu aside, wagers can range from a low of 40c per spin, up to a high of $50 per spin on this 5-reel, 40-slot. Rather obviously the more you wager,  the more you can win with the progressive jackpots.

Features

Wild symbols: The Dancing in Rio logo is this slot’s wild symbol. Wilds can replace all other icons, save for green trigger, red trigger, mask +2, mask +5, mask +10, mask +20, or mask icons. Wilds only appear on the second, third, fourth, and fifth reels of the slot.

Mask symbols: Mask symbols may randomly be replaced with +2, +5, +10, or +20 mask icons during a bonus. Three or more of any of the mask icons will trigger a free spin bonus round.

Free spins: Players will land 10, 20, or 50 free spins with 1x, 2x, or 5x multipliers for 3, 4 or 5 scattered mask icons. If you triggered the bonus icons the +2, +5, +10, or +20 mask icons, or land 3 or more scatters with these numbers during the bonus round, that number of free games will be added to your tally.

Trigger icons: The red and green trigger icons are required to win the progressive and non-progressive jackpots. Red trigger icons can only appear on the fifth reel, whilst green trigger icons can appear on all of the reels.

Maximum pay-outs

All of the standard non-progressive jackpots can be won with a minimum bet, but in order to win the maximum progressive you need to wager above $2 a spin. If you win the maximum pot without the required stake, you will be awarded a Surge Jackpot, which is non-progressive.

You will win the Mini non-progressive jackpot by landing 3 green triggers on the first, second, and third reels. Land 3 green triggers on the second, third, and fourth reels to win the Minor jackpot. Three green triggers on the final three reels awards the Major jackpot.

The non-progressive Burst Bonus, and Pulse Bonus jackpots are won by landing 4 or 5 green triggers on the first four, and all five reels, respectively.

If a player wants to win the progressive jackpot, they need to wager above $2 per spin. They must also land green triggers on the first four reels, as well as the elusive red trigger on the fifth reel. This is certainly no small feat.

Summary

We love the fact that you have 5 non-progressive (6 if you count the Surge jackpot) and 1 progressive jackpot in this game. This is truly creative and original stuff, and makes what would otherwise be just another dull carnival themed video slot into so much more than that.

Almost any player who loves big jackpots will enjoy this game, although a word of warning: that red trigger icon seldom ever appears on the fifth reel, so you may be in for quite a wait to land the big one.
