Batman and Joker Jewels Slot Review

When we heard that Playtech was developing a new line of superhero slots to replace the Marvel games which will disappear this year, we were excited. When we learned that there would be a slot which takes us back to the old television series rivalry between the Caped Crusaders and his nemesis, The Joker, we were even more excited.

Now that we’ve seen the slot in action, and learned that it carries four progressive jackpots for you to win, we’re positively ecstatic. Anybody who believed that Playtech wouldn’t be able to recover from the loss of their Marvel games hasn’t seen anything yet.

Playtech is bad, they are bad, and they are going to excite superhero slot lovers across the globe with their new Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels slot.

Playtech has tried to not stray too far from the same format that made their Marvel Mystery Progressive Jackpot Network slots such a hit. What you’ve got here is a simple 5-reel, 25-line structure, alongside four progressive jackpots, and winning features.

The slot is based on the original television series, to escape from the cliches of comic book superhero genre of slots, as well as Microgaming’s late Dark Knight progressive jackpot slot video slot, which has now ceased to be offered at top casinos.

How to play

None of the 25 paylines which appear in this slot are terribly flexible. Instead, players will be able to alter the value of their coins, and the number of coins they stake per line.

When all of this is altered as players see fit, you will find that the Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels slot contains a floor bet costing just $0.25 per spin, and a ceiling bet which is capped at just $500 per spin.

Wild symbols: There are actually two wild symbols in the Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels slot. The first of these is the Batman logo (which is also the wild in the Batman and Catwoman slot in this series), with the other being the Joker smile icon. Aside from the progressives, these are the best paying symbols in this slot and can replace all other icons save for scatters.

Scatter symbols: Keep your eyes peeled for the green bonus icons. These symbols can trigger a free spins bonus round when they appear on the first, third, and fifth reels of the slot, as well as scattered cash prizes for those symbols.

Free spins feature: In the free spins bonus, players have the chance to multiply their winnings. Firstly, they will need to choose whether they wish to play as Batman or Joker. Multipliers worth up to 5x the normal rate of pay can then be won via the Bat-Tastic Multiplier Meter.

During the bonus round, any wild symbols can boost your multiplier or lower it (depending on who you picked, and the wilds you land). You do not have a specific number of free spins, with the bonus being open-ended. It will only end if your multiplier meter reaches “the end”.

Joker random wilds: At any point in the game, The Joker may decide to dash across the reels In his darting, he could splash out up to 9 smiley wilds on the reels. This can seriously help bolster your wins if you are in a bit of a dry spell.

Maximum pay-outs

Just like the Batman and Catwoman slot in this series, the progressive jackpots in this game are triggered entirely at random. There are four of them to be won, namely the Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand prizes.

Once the progressive bonus is activated, you will get to pick from various symbols on a honeycomb structure. Match 3 identical progressive jackpot symbols and you will win the progressive prize that they denote. You are guaranteed to win one of the progressives if you trigger this random feature.

Although it is not as complex or contain as many features as the Batman and Catman video slot in this series, Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels is certainly worth a look.

This is a great way to introduce the new Playtech series, and most fans of the Marvel games will want to try their hand at these games, even if they aren’t necessarily fans of the DC universe.

Given that Marvel slots are going to be taken down anyway next year, you’ll either be stuck with Age of Gods, or the DC superhero games if you love big prize paying, multiple progressive jackpot slots from Playtech.
