Golden Jungle Slot Review
You may be forgiven for assuming that the Golden Jungle slot is all about tigers. At first glance, it may appear that way. However, once you get the wrapping of (so to speak), you will see that this is one of the few India themed video slots out there.
Celebrating the Raj, the culture, and the history of the subcontinent, this slot is a real rare breed, not just in terms of theme but also regarding the features that this IGT developed game carries.
Golden Jungle is one of the most original themed slots to come out of IGT’s vaults in quite some time. For that reason alone, it may be worth a look.
For many years IGT have stuck to the same tried and tested method when it comes to developing formats and structures for their video slots. Lately, though, IGT have sort of broken from that chain, as they try to become more competitive in the market.
Their latest title – Golden Jungle – is a return to the old classic of playing IGT slots, though. Expect a fair degree of inflexibility in the wagers, stacked symbols and basic but enjoyable features. Golden Jungle may be striding into new territory in terms of originality with its theme, but the gameplay is as standard as ever.

How to play
Golden Jungle’s wagering menu bar is something we’ve all seen before. Yes, it has been designed in a kind of Bengal theme and style, but the buttons are the usual suspects.
Expect 50 inflexible paylines present on the reels of this slot, and line bets to range from $0.50 per spin, up to a hefty $2,500 per spin. Nobody said that Golden Jungle was going to be cheap to play, but do you get value for money?
Wild Stays 4 Plays: Wild symbols appear as golden emblems. These symbols form what IGT calls its Wild Stays 4 Plays feature. This means that every wild icon that appears on a reel, will also fill up one of the four bars above the respective reel.
Once a player has collected 4 wilds on any given reel, that entire reel will turn wild for the next 3 spins. We’ve seen this feature before, albeit in Microgaming’s Untamed series of slots.
Wild symbols: There is a second type of wild icon in this game, and it is also the best paying symbols in the slot. It appears as a Bengal Tiger and can substitute for all other icons barring scatters and golden emblem wilds.
Scatter icons: The golden archway is the scatter symbol in this slot. Players need to land 3 or more of them to trigger the slot’s main bonus round, which consists of a free spins feature.
Free spins bonus: Players can choose their bonus based on how many scatters they located. A total of 3 scatters can see you play with 2 spins and the first, third, and fifth reels wild, 6 free spins with the second and fourth reels wild, or 15 spins with the third reel wild.
Landing 4 scatters can see players choose 4 spins with the first, third, and fifth reels wild, 12 spins with the second and fourth reels wild, or 30 spins with the third reel wild.
Land all 5 scatters and you can play with 10 spins with the first, third, and fifth reels wild, 30 spins with the second and fourth reels wild, or 75 spins with the third reel wild.
The top paying symbols in this slot are the Bengal Tigers, as we’ve mentioned. Wild symbols can offer you wins worth 10, 75, or 150 coins if you land 2, 3 or 4 symbols on a payline, respectively. Land all 5 Bengal Tiger wilds on a line, and you will win the non-progressive jackpot of 2,000 coins.
Normally, we wouldn’t be over the moon about IGT delivering a samey style of slot structure, but we must admit that Golden Jungle is rather pleasing.
The slot offers up a decent jackpot, a solid wild feature, and plenty of gorgeous imagery as part of its original theme. The wagers are a little rough on players operating on small budgets, but that’s often the case with IGT developed slots.
