Free Play of Fruit vs. Candy Slot
Fruit vs. Candy is one of Microgaming’s tastier new slot machine games. It launched last year (2016) and offers players two modes to play in.
Players have the option of choosing Fruit Mode, or Candy Mode, and that will, in turn, directly affect the bonus rounds in the game, as well as the symbols which appear on the reels. Players will recognise the design and setup of this game from another major Microgaming hit with the same twin-play feature – Lost Vegas.
Microgaming have been experimenting with new gaming modes of late. For years, their slots largely stuck to the 243 ways to win, one free spins bonus, and one randomly triggered bonus feature format.
Now, though, Microgaming is trying to cram more and more into their games, as slots like Fruit vs. Candy showcase. This addition of such tasty and juicy features in this game does satisfy most players’ hunger for sweeter things from the developer.

How to play
Like all Microgaming’s 243 ways to play games, players have absolutely no chance to alter any of the paylines which appear in this game. They can, however, alter the value of their coins, and the number of coins they stake per spin.
Coin sizes vary from $0.01 up to $0.50 in all, with players also able to select up to 15 coins per spin. Expect to find a wagering range which rises upwards from a floor of $0.30 per spin to a ceiling bet of $225 per spin on this slot machine game.
Wild symbols: It doesn’t matter which mode you play in, the Fruit vs. Candy logo will always act as a wild symbol. Wild symbols are also the second best paying symbols in the slot and can substitute for all other icons, save for scatters.
Scatter symbols: Scatter icons take the shape of multi-coloured lettering. They are the best paying symbols to land anywhere on the reels, and landing 3 or more them in any position will also trigger a bonus round. Which bonus round you get, though, depends on the mode you are playing in.
Goodie Bag bonus: After any non-winning spin in the slot, a goodie bag may randomly appear on the reels. When it does so, it will award an instant cash prize. This satisfies the randomly triggered event requirement in this Microgaming developed slot.
Sugar Rush bonus: The Sugar Rush bonus is another randomly triggered event. It can happen at any time in the base game, and on any non-winning spin in the free spins bonus. When it occurs, all high symbols will award cash prizes, and if players land a scatter during this bonus they will instantly trigger free spins. We’ve seen this kind of feature before in the Lost Vegas slot.
Free spins bonuses: If you triggered the bonus in Fruit Mode, you will get an unlimited number of spins with a Cash Stash feature. The high playing card symbols will be removed from the reels when they land, and each one adds cash to your tally. Once all symbols have been collected, the bonus ends and winnings are paid out.
If you triggered the bonus in Candy Mode, then you will get up to 50 free spins with a Sweet Reel feature. Full candy stacks appearing on the reels will turn into stacked wilds, and lock a reel. Once candy stacked symbols have locked all 5 reels, or 50 spins have been played, the bonus ends.
Microgaming claims that you can win as much as 485,000 coins in total with this non-progressive jackpot slot machine game. As good as wild are to your wins, scatter icons are the best paying symbols in the slot. Land 5 of them anywhere on the reels to pocket the non-progressive jackpot.
There are plenty of similarities between Fruit vs. Candy and Lost Vegas. Do you know what, though? We don’t mind one bit. We loved Lost Vegas, and the chance to enjoy those features all again with a fruit and candy theme is certainly appreciated.
If Lost Vegas and its zombie apocalypse theme wasn’t your cup of tea, you will find the Fruit vs. Candy slot a much more light-hearted affair.
