Armadillo Artie slots game is a Cryptologic designed online slot machine, which features the friendly Artie, who is of course, an Armadillo.
Whilst that is most certainly good news, it is time to bring you some of the bad. Armadillo Artie features truly dated and aged graphics, and doesn’t really have much in the way of entertainment for most players. Perhaps ideal for first time gamers, this slot won’t keep the attention of many, more seasoned veterans.
How to play Armadillo Artie online
Armadillo Artie offers players a simplistic and elementary 5 reels and a 25 payline structure. You could describe this as the industry norm for a video slot. Coin values range from a low of £0.01 up to a high of £10. You can only stake one coin per spin. Players can therefore wager anything from the minimum bet of just £0.01 per line, per spin; up to the maximum stake of £250.00 per spin, though most players probably won’t stake that much.
Okay, so we know that the graphics are bad, but rather than dwelling on how bad they are, let’s look at what they are. High playing cards are of course present here, although players have also got Artie, a Sheriff snake, bird, mounted cattle skull, cactus and more “mid-west” icons to play with. It’s all very cheeky and chirpy, but the lack of graphical detail is still an issue.

The scatter icon
The Ranger badge is the free spins scatter icon in this game. If the player lands three or more of these free spin scatter icons on the second, third and fourth reels, then they will trigger free spins. Players will start the free games feature with 10 free spins, and free spins cannot be retriggered during play.
There is another bonus icon worth mentioning. This icon is the bowling pin. When the bowling pin icon appears on the second, third and fourth reels during the free spins round; the player triggers another bonus. In the Bowling Pin Bonus, players must direct a bowling ball, to hit as many pins as they can. For every pin knocked over, the player will pick up a prize. This bonus is only available during the free spins round, and not during standard play.
The wild symbol
The wild icon in this slot is Artie the Armadillo. Wilds in this slot are expanding icons, although they don’t expand upwards or downwards across a single reel. Instead the wilds expand sideways, across a number of reels. The wild icons can substitute themselves for all other icons, with the exception of the scatter and bonus symbols.
The Armadillo Artie jackpot
Armadillo Artie comes with a total non-progressive jackpot worth 1,000 coins. Considering how high the max stake can go, this isn’t that great. Still, if you land a couple of the horizontally expanding wilds, you could win considerable sums on low stakes.
Other notes on Armadillo Artie
We don’t want to be too harsh on Armadillo Artie, and say that it is a slot that should never have been made. That would be untrue, as there are a few things (horizontally expanding wilds and the bowling game) that are worth taking from this release.
However, graphically, it’s a disaster. Still, if you are stepping into the gaming world for the very first time, Armadillo Artie might just be the perfect place for you to discover how video slots work, and to bag a few wins with small stakes.
